Merry Christmas

We did it!

Today I am dropping off an awesome goodie basket for the entire family.  I have already delivered all the toys for the kids.

I can't say THANK YOU enough!  I have always known that I have some pretty awesome friends, but it is just amazing to see what can be accomplished from just one email.  When I started this a few weeks ago, I was just praying to get enough to just provide a few things for each child.  We TOTALLY outdid my expectations.  I am not going to post everything that we provided because they haven't opened their last gifts yet, just know that it is FABULOUS!

I am hoping that this will just be the beginning.  That next year will be even bigger!

Check back after Christmas for an update of what we raised!

THANK YOU!

Please continue to support this family in your prayers and KNOW that YOU made a difference this year.  THIS is what Christmas is really all about!

We have raised OVER $1300!!! That is AMAZING!!!  Obviously Christmas will be totally taken care of!!

We want to continue to raise money for treatment cost.  Aaron is flying back to M.D. Anderson in January for a follow up appointment and many other times through out the year.  We will be planning a few fundraisers next year to continue to help support this family!

Please continue to pass this story to all that may care! Continue your prayers for this family as well!

This is such an awesome testimony that people are still GOOD

I will update the final list of items and money provided after Christmas!!

A Visit

This weekend I was able to stop by and visit with Shawna, Tanslie and the Boys.  I can not express my LOVE for this family.  They are truly awesome!

I was able to drop off the first load of presents to Shawna.  It was amazing handing these presents to her.  After Christmas I will post a list of everything we were able to buy! But so far it is looking like a wonderful Christmas for these kids.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Between gift cards and monetary donations we are now above $500!  We even have someone looking into some donated buddy passes to help Aaron go back to M.D. Anderson!

Thanks so much for your support! PLEASE KEEP SHARING!!!

Let's get this party STARTED

Okay guys so we only have about three weeks until Christmas!  I really want this family to have an awesome Christmas and to be able to end this year with fantastic memories!  If you would like to donate monetarily that would be fantastic so click here!  However if you live in the area, I would also LOVE to collect some gift cards to Wal-Mart, Target, Ingles, etc. for groceries and gas. Aaron’s new oncologist is in Marietta and it would be awesome to be able to help pay for gas for his appointments. It’s quite a drive from Locust Grove to Marietta. This would be one less stress for Shawna to worry about. Having gift cards for Ingles, Walmart or any other grocery store would be a huge help in providing groceries for this family of 7!
Also if you would like to purchase a gift for one of the kids please see the "wish list" page at the top.  You can drop anything off to me (contact me via email) or if you live in Sun City Peachtree, you can drop off with my mom (contact her via email here)

Please read the LONG post below so you will know the entire story.  You can also click on the links above for more info.

Please meet My friends the McWright Family

I would like to introduce you to my friends, the McWright family.

Aaron and Shawna McWright are your average mom and dad who go to work every day and do what they can for their family.  Together they have five beautiful children.  Four boys and one little girl: Taylor (16), Tristen (13), Tanner (11), Trace (5) and Tanslie (2).  I met the McWright family six years ago when we both moved into our brand new homes in the same neighborhood.  My husband and I were just married and not long after got pregnant with our baby girl.  Shawna and I were pregnant at the same time and our 5 year olds have grown to love each other.  We have spent many nights talking, laughing, taking walks and enjoying our neighbors.

So why am I telling you this...because they need our help.

After a lot of run around Aaron has been diagnosed with an inoperable, incurable, brain tumour.  The life expectancy of someone with his diagnosis is TEN years!  So what I am asking is this, imagine for one minute that you were given that diagnosis. How would that affect your family?  Can you imagine how hard it is to explain to ONE child that their father has cancer? TRY FIVE!  Shawna has always been my hero, leaving me often to wonder exactly how in the world her house could possibly be so freaking clean, how she isn't half crazy with FIVE kids (I can only handle one), and how with this recent devastating blow she can STILL ask me what SHE can do to HELP ME?  Shawna is awesome, we all know that!  So I would LOVE to give her the gift of a few "less" worries.

Having a diagnosis like this affects a family in SO many ways it is not even imaginable.  SO I really believe (ALONG WITH A LOT OF PRAYER) the best way we can reach out to this family is by helping to ease some of the financial burden.

Please give if you can!

Thanks in advanced!
